Transportation from LAX to Disneyland by Taxi

A LAX taxi is always a good idea for your journey from Los Angeles Airport to Disneyland, especially after a long or tiring flight. Although available no matter the day or time, LAX taxis don’t line up outside the terminals. Conversely, they pick up their passengers at the airport’s designated zone, the LAX-it area (the same applies to the authorized ride-sharing companies). Please bear in mind that LA taxis can be of any color. Still, only certain taxicab agencies are allowed to pick up passengers from LAX. Thus, once you collect your luggage, you can walk to LAX-it. As a matter of fact, you’ll reach it in about 4 minutes on foot if your arrival terminal is T1, in about 10 minutes if you landed in T2, T7, or T8, and in 16-19 minutes if your terminal is TBIT, T3, T4, T5, or T6. Alternatively, you can head to the Green LAX-it stops outside the Arrivals area of each terminal and take the free airport shuttle to LAX-it. It runs on a 3-5-minute frequency. Moreover, another taxi rank is to be found on the first level of P3, close to T3 and TBIT, while passengers landing at T7 or T8 can catch their cab from the taxi stand lying on the east side of T7, outside the baggage claim zone.

Your LAX taxi will traverse the 35-mile/56-km distance from Los Angeles Airport to Disneyland in about 50 minutes. Still, during rush hours (even more so during the afternoon traffic jams), the traveling time can rise to 110 minutes. Your taxi driver most probably won’t offer you a flat fare. Verily, the ride from LAX to Disneyland is usually metered. Still, you can expect a 100$/93.80€ price for your transfer when roads aren’t congested. If you get stuck in traffic, the final cost of the ride will surely be higher. As far as tipping is concerned, a 10%-15% tip is usually expected. You can pay for your cab in cash or via a bank card (with no extra charge).

Transportation from LAX to Disneyland by Metro

Traveling from LAX Airport to Disneyland by metro is by far the cheapest option. Nevertheless, it requires two changes of line and can be very tedious and time-consuming, especially if you are traveling with children or heavy luggage. In any case, if a cheap transfer from Los Angeles to Disneyland is your goal, you should head to your terminal’s stop marked by a PINK LAX Shuttle sign (you’ll find stops in all terminals, on the lower/Arrivals level), and catch the free Shuttle G running every 15-20 minutes to Aviation/LAX Station. Shuttles G reach their terminus in about 15 minutes.

Please remember that LAX is being renovated so as to optimize the travelers’ experience during the LA Olympic Games 2028. Hence, a new station is being constructed (LAX/Metro Transit Center Station), which will serve Metro Lines C and K and will be connected to LAX via an automated people mover.

At Aviation/LAX Station, you’ll hop on the Metro C Line (the Green Line), running from 03:49 am to 00:08 am every 10 minutes during rush hours and every 12-15 minutes at other times. Once you reach the Line C’s terminus (Norwalk), you’ll catch the Metro Bus 460. It is an express line, meaning that it runs on freeways and makes fewer in-between stops. Bus 460 operates every 30-40 minutes from 04:32 am to 00:38 am (from 05:02 am to 11:09 pm on weekends). Overall, the ride from Aviation/LAX Station to Norwalk will last around 26 minutes, and the bus ride to Disneyland Employee S Entrance (a 4-minute walk from Disneyland’s main entrance) usually lasts 90 minutes (when roads are congested, it is longer). Should you want to often use the means of public transportation during your stay, you’ll benefit from TAP’s fare-capping system.
